Demure bronze, decadent gold, lavish silvers and refined nickel: Every year metallics make a comeback and every year we welcome them back with open arms.
In fact, a huge portion of our fall line is dedicated to metallics. Think: warm bronze, cool chrome and lots of unique exotic pieces.
There is something to be said about a trend that changes shape and reappears every season and we always look forward to seeing how it mingles with different styles.
Today we’re sharing our newest tips on how to incorporate these lovely metallics into your own home décor for a hint of sparkle all year long…
Start Small

Some people shy away from metallics in fear of turning their home into a flashy disco ball. It’s a totally understandable fear, however if you start small, you’ll rarely go wrong.
First, think about which metals speaks to you. Also think about your existing décor. If your home has plenty of white walls or furniture, chrome is a beautiful metal to play with. If your carpet or sofa is chocolate brown, spice things up with a hint of bronze. It’s all about playing with complimenting tones.
Start small by adding hints of metallics in single doses. Look for gold or silver vases, napkin sets, placemats or centerpieces with a bit of a sheen.
You’d be surprised at how metallics can bring a sense of lightness to a darker area, so take that into consideration as well. Even a clock with a chrome base can bring pizazz to a flat room.
Use It Unexpectedly
While we’re used to seeing metallics make waves with decorative pillows, vases, wall accessories and art pieces, the new trend this season is to play with metallics in unexpected ways.
Think outside the box for added opulence.
For instance, a single shimmering curtain or a statement wall of metallic wallpaper can add a gorgeous sheen without breaking the bank.
Backsplashes are another way to make an unexpected surprise. Metallic-infused paint is a gorgeous option for backsplashes, the backs of bookshelves and picture matting; even coffee tables in need of a DIY makeover.
If money isn’t an issue, metallic tiles are a stunning and unexpected way to make a small wall or kitchen backsplash ‘pop’ with shine.
The décor opportunities are limitless.
Make A Statement With Furniture
For those of you who aren’t afraid of taking a décor leap, there are plenty of fabulous eye-catching accent pieces you might want to invest in.
Wrought iron is the perfect choice if you’re looking to make an industrial rustic statement. It’s a popular metal this season and you’ll find it in everything from end and accent tables to bench seating and shelving.
If chrome is what you’re after, a stunning coffee table will surely set the tone and create a beautiful focal point in your living room or den.
