Is your home still carrying winter bulk? Spring has sprung and it’s time to de-clutter and streamline your space with these 5 tips!
Goodbye, winter! Spring is here and with it comes the arrival of brighter colors, lighter fabrics and whimsical accent pieces.
But you can’t welcome new spring décor until you shed the winter bulk!
Not sure where to start? Let us walk you through 5 easy ways you can de-clutter and streamline your space for spring:
De-clutter Tip #1: Love It Or Lose It
This is one of our favorite spring cleaning tips, and it’s simple: Love it or lose it.
Take a look around your space and ask yourself “do I love this? Does it work in my space?” If you have to hmm and haw over it, it has to go.
We recommend using 3 boxes for this task: Keep, sell and toss.
The ‘keep’ box is for special momentums you love, but don’t necessarily belong on display. These are the items you can store in your basement or garage.
The ‘sell’ box is great for pieces you used to love, but don’t anymore. These items can earn you money at an upcoming yard sale. Extra bucks for new spring accents? Yes please!
The ‘toss’ box is self-explanatory; some things just have to go! If the items are in good condition, you could donate them to a local thrift store or not-for-profit organization.
De-clutter Tip #2: Streamline Your Collections
We love collections, however they can spiral out of control if they’re not edited on a consistent basis.
For example, plant lovers: Do you really need to feel like you’re living in a jungle? Of course not. Choose your favorites and let the rest go.
Maybe you love teapots but they’re cramped atop your kitchen cupboards. Move them into a china cabinet behind glass instead.
Most importantly, if you do plan to display a large collection, make a point to keep it dust-free and clean. This helps your space feel fresh and streamlined.

De-clutter Tip #3: Say Goodbye To Multiples
Collections aside, do you really need 4 kitchen rugs and 18 accent pillows on one sofa?
Multiple items that perform the same function make clutter in your space. Now is the time to let them go—or a least store them away.
The same can be said for electronic chargers and remotes; they make your home décor look messy.
The Solution? Two-in-one storage options like the Hampton Single Storage Bench in Grey. Knick-knacks, bygone!

De-clutter Tip #4: Sassy Storage
While we’re on the topic of storage, don’t be afraid to invest in new accent pieces that make de-cluttering easy.
Shelving units are one thing, but they also create the temptation to build more clutter; that’s why, when choosing new storage for spring, we’re taking the sassier route.
The NEW Esquire Accent Table has 3 drawers for simple storage and a set of wheels, making it easy to move where you see fit!
It also sports an industrial-chic vibe, which many home décor enthusiasts are embracing this spring.

De-clutter Tip #5: Lighten Up
Are chunky knitted throws and faux-fur accents still lurking in your home? Removing bulky accents and replacing them with lighter colors and fabrics instantly rejuvenates your space for spring.
We also love the use of mirror and glass features to open up any space to make it feel bigger.
If all else fails, open up those blinds! Natural sunlight brings a sense of lightness and openness to any room, taking you out of the depths of winter and right into spring!
