3 Ways To Refresh Your Kitchen This Spring

May 29, 2015 by whm-blog-admin Leave a Comment

Are you tired of your dated kitchen? Spring is a fabulous time to declutter, reorganize and refresh this space!

We spend so much time in the kitchen prepping meals, baking for guests and whipping up snacks for the kids that the décor scheme often gets ignored.

But there’s good news!

A quick refresh is only three steps away—And it doesn’t require an expensive overhaul with weeks of renovation, sawdust or ongoing pizza delivery!

Kitchen Refresh #1: Paint Your Backsplash To Match Your Favorite Accent Piece

One of the quickest and most inexpensive ways to upgrade any kitchen is to add a splash of fresh paint!

For instance, if your kitchen cupboards are bland, dark, or boring, a few coats of silky white semi gloss paint will bring them to life and lighten up the entire space for spring.

If painting out your cupboards is too big of a job to take on, try painting your backsplash instead.

This smaller area is a great place to experiment, especially with a vibrant accent color to make your kitchen pop.

If you’re unsure which shade to choose, we suggest mimicking a favorite accent piece to strike a balance.

The Cruz Gas Lift Stool in lime is a favorite kitchen staple of our own that we like to use in our show kitchens. Imagine a matching kitchen backsplash painted in lime green? It would make a beautiful refreshing statement for spring!

Inspire Tip: If you’re renting and your landlord is iffy about paint, sticky tile and wall decals make a great backsplash substitute!

Kitchen Refresh #2: Focus On Floral Arrangements

Floral arrangements are another easy way to refresh your kitchen for spring. Not only do they look beautiful and add a pop of color wherever they’re placed, they smell fragrant and fresh, creating an inviting aura in your home.

In an ideal world, we would take a trip to the florist every week, however this could become expensive very quickly!

That’s why (although we love fresh flowers!) we have no problem recommending faux floral arrangements to refresh your kitchen. They work just as beautifully and last forever, giving you the option to mix and match for months to come.

For those with bold taste, feel free to get creative by adding faux feathers and bedazzled leaves into the mix to make a statement.

If you have a small kitchen table and would rather not take up space with a large floral arrangement, display it on your sideboard, kitchen butcher block or favorite kitchen accent piece like Aspen Console in Honey!

Kitchen Refresh #3: Swap Your Clunky Kitchen Table For Something Airier

Is your kitchen being weighed down by clunky winter-esque furniture? Although we adore the traditional look of dark-stained oak and heavy wood, it adds heaviness to your kitchen that doesn’t always work well during the spring and summer months.

A quick and easy solution to refresh your kitchen for spring is to swap your traditional kitchen table for something lighter and airier, like the Chicago Round Dining Table in white.

Eliminate that heavy feeling in your kitchen by replacing your dining table with something lighter.

This lightweight set eliminates that heavy, bold feeling from your kitchen instantly without any extra fuss or heavy renovation work.

On the other hand, if you love your current table and don’t plan on swapping it, you could always paint in a lighter, brighter color to create the same effect, or lighten it up with a simple white tablecloth or set of placemats.

No matter which route you prefer, it’s all about finding simple, cost-effective ways to make a quick and refreshing statement!
