Green is, however, the new IT<\/em><\/strong> color. \u2018Greenery\u2019 is 2017\u2019s Pantone color of the year and for good reason.<\/p>\n

It\u2019s a clean shade with undertones of yellow that puts one in mind of healthy, leafy goodness. Just say the word \u2018green\u2019 and all sorts of things come to mind: fresh herbs, grapes, grass, Spring.<\/p>\n

The science behind color choices<\/a> is well documented and of all of the colors on the spectrum, green is the one that stands out as the most healthful, peaceful, natural and serene.<\/p>\n

When it comes to decor, natural hues have always been popular to create the relaxing backdrop for life that is a home. Green is the essence of natural since it evokes a feeling of freshness and re-birth. It\u2019s a color that brings harmony, rather than division; a perfect feeling for a home to have.<\/p>\n

Green Furniture To Make A Splash<\/strong><\/h3>\n

With the use of natural shades including brown and beige becoming a standard in many designs that emphasize neutrality, a splash of color can make all the difference to the statement a room makes.<\/p>\n

But that splash needn\u2019t be violent, like a red or a purple. A subtle green like the shade used in the Rigi chair from !nspire, shown below, can create that splash while still retaining the feeling of calm that it is intended to evoke.<\/p>\n

Mixing Green With Other Colors<\/strong><\/h3>\n

You can mix green accents with any number of decor items that are similar by virtue of color. Since green is made up of blue and yellow, you can use either or both to go with green. Or you can contrast green with metallics or shades of white, for a crisp and clean look.<\/p>\n

And of course, it\u2019s always an option to stay with nature\u2019s palette and focus on wood, stone and glass as your color inspirations with green as the natural link between them.<\/p>\n

Then green is the perfect color to include in your design. You can see the difference to the eye when you look at the Lanai (!nspire)\u00a0 accent chairs, identical but for their color. Think about how you feel as you look at each one.<\/p>\n

The green chair is a cool color, associated with water and sky. The red is a warm color, associated with heat and sun. It\u2019s clear that they are providing two very different effects despite being almost exactly the same piece. That\u2019s the power of color!<\/p>\n

If you keep this psychology in mind, in terms of how we as humans perceive color, you can design spaces in your home that evoke exactly what you want and color is a major component of how you go about doing that.<\/p>\n
