Do-It-Yourself projects are ideal for the garden. One of our favorite ideas is incorporating unconventional planters into your outdoor space. It\u2019s all about upcycling!<\/p>\n

Do you have any old furniture lying around? Check the garage or keep your eyes open at yard sales. Old cabinets, dressers and night tables make for unique flower planters. Simply paint them up, lay your soil and plant your favorite flowers inside for a real wow-effect.<\/p>\n

Vertical gardens were big last year and they\u2019re still holding strong this season. If you want to make a big statement this month, we suggest giving it a try!<\/p>\n

The great thing about vertical gardens is there are so many ways to create them.<\/p>\n

One of the easiest ways actually refers back to our DIY advice above. Old bookshelves are perfect for a project like this. Simply add a mixture of potted plants on each shelf and watch them bloom!<\/p>\n

But if you\u2019re looking for something a little more unique, try using lattice fencing, wooden palettes or ladders, stacked cement blocks or securing colorful pots onto your existing fence. They all come out beautifully in the end!<\/p>\n

Mirror Mirror<\/strong><\/h2>\n

Even the smallest space can be enhanced with a garden mirror. Home d\u00e9cor professionals use this trick all the time\u2014especially for those with minimal space on balconies and verandas.<\/p>\n

Outdoor mirrors look beautiful when they\u2019re left freestanding in the garden or attached to a fence or wall. Just be sure to research beforehand on the proper installation against brick or any type of concrete. Nobody needs 7 years of bad luck!<\/p>\n

Angle is key, too. Be mindful of what view you want to reflect and avoid a position that reflects a messy or plain area. Sun-facing angles are usually your best bet. The more light reflecting around your garden, the bigger your space seems.\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n
