August Decor Trend #1: Terrariums

Although fresh flowers and indoor plants have been a home décor staple since—well—forever, terrariums are taking over designer homes across the country.

I know what you’re thinking: Grade five project anyone? But don’t worry, these designer terrariums are nothing like the ones you remember!

Between DIY mini green landscapes crafted from discarded wine bottles to edgy glass designs, terrariums are the modern solution for those who might not have the greenest thumb.

They’re easy to upkeep and make a great addition to any space that lacks plant life while !nspiring a sense of summer freshness into your home.

The great thing about building your own terrarium is you can incorporate any elements you want. For instance, if you have a nautical theme you could include beachy pieces like driftwood, sand and shells. If your theme is more laid back you could try mossy rocks and simple greens.

There are a number of creative designs on the market. Glass is the standard but wooden and metal accented terrariums create visual interest as well.

August Decor Trend #2: Outdoor Blinds

This fabulous August décor trend is taking us outdoors to soak up what’s left of the summer.

Have you ever tried to enjoy your front porch only to be blinded by the scorching sun? Or maybe you have a few nosey neighbors you’d prefer not to chat with every time you want some fresh air.

Whatever your reason, this is where outdoor blinds come in handy.

Wood is making a comeback in several home décor accessories this month, but especially when it comes to outdoor blinds.

Exposed wood grain blinds and natural woven shades are joining the ranks of bamboo as a top choice for porches across the country.

These woven shades come in different tones and some even include grassy woven accents to mingle with your surrounding natural scenery.

They let in a diffused light, making it easy and refreshing to sit outside without sporting a constant squint. They also provide the subtle privacy you need to embrace the remaining summer breezes in peace as you sip your morning coffee.

August Decor Trend #3: Copper Accents

The Eglo accent table is coming to !nspire this autumn!

Mimicking the humidity of August, hot copper accents bring a warm depth into any space for a majestic glow of softness and harmony. Copper may not seem like a typical summer trends but paired with beautiful middle eastern tile, it says “Marrakesh.”

Between furniture, décor accessories, wall tiles, light fixtures, bathroom tubs and kitchen sinks, there are plenty of ways to infuse this tone into your home.

While these options are fabulous, our favorite way to infuse this tone is with a simple coat of paint. It’s the quickest and easiest way to make a statement, especially on a smaller wall.

Copper tones mix seamlessly with other metals such as chrome, wrought iron and stainless steel, making this trend super easy to pair with your existing pieces.

But if new is what you’re after, our industrial Indigo Accent Table In Rustic Black would marry beautifully with copper walls, creating a warm space for you to enjoy in summer.

Not only does copper work for August but it’s a fantastic transition color into fall, incorporating rich hues of orange and brown we can continue to embrace once summer starts to fade.
