3 Unique Furniture Combinations To Try This Summer

Feeling bored with your furniture? Simply rearrange your current pieces for a new summer look!

Do you ever look around your space and feel the need for change?

Many of our clients think the only way to refresh their surroundings is to buy new furniture, but that’s not always the case.

While we encourage infusing new accent pieces into the mix every season (we are a home décor company, after all!) sometimes it’s simply about re-arranging your furniture to create a whole new look!

Are you ready to try something different? Here are 3 unique furniture combinations to experiment with this summer. (We used !nspire furniture, but feel free to try these arrangements with your own pieces!)

Unique Furniture Combination #1: Plush Accent Chair With Sleek Table

When arranging furniture, it’s important to consider size, shape, texture and detail. It’s a great idea to mix these elements and play with different arrangements to make your space feel more interesting.

Many people stick to one style; for example, minimalist’s love sleek furniture designs where everything is streamlined and sharp.

What they don’t realize is that it’s still possible to play with different elements while remaining true to their aesthetic.

For example, instead of keeping every piece of furniture streamlined, create an unexpected surprise with a plush accent chair; then pair it with one of your current streamlined tables for a contrasting look.

We love the idea of the Philippe accent chair next to the Akram square accent table. The juxtaposition of these pieces creates an interesting vibe while still playing within the minimalist motif.

You should never be afraid to make a statement with one or two pieces that feel outside of your comfort zone; it’s what makes your space unique!

Unique Furniture Combination #2: 2 Accent Chairs In Place Of A Sofa

It’s easy to get caught up in routine styling, i.e. two identical facing sofas with a coffee table in the middle. There’s nothing wrong with this tried and true combination, but if you’re feeling bored, it’s time to make a change.

Instead of two facing sofas, we love the idea of replacing one sofa with two bold accent chairs; this not only adds visual interest to your space, but allows you to enjoy your own space while reading a book or sipping your morning coffee.

The Durango Accent Chair is our top pick for styling your space with accent chairs. Its soft-textured, neutral fabric works beautifully in most rooms and complements any aesthetic.

Having two accent chairs in place of a sofa also presents an opportunity to experiment with accent tables or a set of ottomans to !nspire relaxation.

Don’t get caught up in matching, either. Use what you have and feel free to try different styles to see what suits your space. In 2015, matching isn’t mandatory—So have fun!

Unique Furniture Combination #3: 2 Adjoining Console Tables In Place Of Shelving

Before you go out and spend hundreds of dollars on expensive (and sometimes unsightly) shelving units, consider doubling up on your console table instead.

Console tables are fantastic because they’re more décor-focused than shelving units; yet offer some of the same storage qualities.

When we tested out this unique furniture arrangement idea, we adjoined two Olana Consoles in Grey to create a dramatic living-room wall unit.

The spacious cabinets were perfect for storing DVD’s, remote controls and magazines, while the top surface provided plenty of space to display decorative vases and accessories.

The beautiful, washed grey finish and circular wood overlay on the Olana Console made a statement we couldn’t ignore; and that’s why we had to share this unique idea.
